The 21st Century More than a new day the 21st Century presents an opportunity for a new way. Despite shortcomings that must be addressed there is much to be proud of in the United States of America. Fantastic medical breakthroughs have cured what was thought incurable. Technological advances has created a world of virtual reality and world communications have opened the doors for a global society. KEEP HOPE ALIVE STOP THE HATE GIVE LOVE A CHANCE People around the globe must learn from the repeated errors of history. Our children must be educated, and educated with truth, not lies. We must clean up the environment and stop destroying what we can not replace. Above all the common folk have got to get involved, and stay involved. Not to do so is to allow the special interests of a few to dominate the lives of us all. There has been positive gains over the days of history. The boycotts, sit-ins, registration drives, and demonstrations did work. Some walls were torn down that have made way for young blacks to expand the envelope of possibilities, but the assassin's bullet has taken its toll. Tokenism remains the rule. That is certain to change. Abraham Lincoln was correct in his observation, "You can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all the people all the time." History, however, must be taught, learned, and understood. The patterns of human behavior are clear to any willing to have the courage to look at them. Martin Luther King went to jail Williams could
compete on the tennis court. Mankind has few frontiers to explore. Currently on the threshold of space travel the universe awaits us while the oceans that cover most of our globe still hold their secrets. It will take a global effort to reverse the destruction to our environment, stop the destruction of the rain forest and plant the seeds for its renewal. The talents of all of our young people must be developed. Their education should be our highest priority, and this time teach them the truth.
