Show your support for freedom and democracy

Do you have an opinion? Are you willing to voice that opinion, and to conduct the necessary research to insure that your opinion is based upon fact? Have you taken a moment to drop your Congressman a line, or two? When was the last time you wrote a letter to the editor of your local newspaper; either praising or criticizing? Are you a registered voter? Do you vote? What community based activities do you support and participate in? Or, are you merely a spectator?

STAND UP FOR SOMETHING or FALL FOR ANYTHING

Maybe the greatest human weakness is not having an opinion. Apathy certainly remains the greatest ally to the racist. Call a racist in the middle of the night and ask them if they have time to degrade, abuse, or mistreat, and they will come running. Never too tired. Never too busy. Race hate organizations have swollen membership rosters while the N.A.A.C.P. membership is declining. In a land applauding "free speech" how is it that so many have nothing to say?

We must STOP THE HATE before it's too late. Mankind has still a lot to learn. We are destroying our environment daily in exchange for profits. We slaughter each other with no remorse for the loss of life. Our word means nothing except the SPIN we attach to it. "Our" means you and me. US. It may be my end of the boat that has the link but dah!

GOD  Right now at this instant someplace in the world someone is being murdered in the name of the Lord. It has never made any sense. People killing one another over their chosen religious beliefs flies in the face of the teachings and beliefs of most religions around the globe, but despite messages of peace the congregation elects mayhem over tolerance.

Religion    Much of the evil found in the world is based upon religion.

The Faces of Terror. Why must mankind instill terror in other human beings? It's an age old question; not just one spawned by recent terrorist activities around the world. 

Arrogance, Ignorance, and Greed. Since September 11, 2001, white racist have identified an issue that can hide their true intentions of a New World Order. 

History     Liar, liar pants on fire. The popularized distribution of U.S. history within the public and private school systems is a sham. Historians know this to be true, but, like most in the U.S.A. they just go along to get along. Native Americans are labeled Indians without any known linkage to India because Columbus was off course. We pretend that Teddy Roosevelt led the charge against San Juan Hill without his horses that had to return to Florida. Despite the video tape we insist that it was Rodney King that was beating up the police. Liar, liar pants on fire.

Racism    I have a dream too. A day when people aren't thrown off by difference. When folks respect each other simply because they are civilized human beings. STOP THE HATE is my dream, and you can make it come true. But before we can find and apply a cure we first have to recognize that there is an illness. Today, right now in the Unites States of America, and other nations, we deny what we do everyday. 

The U.S. News Media    The talking heads all speak with one mouth. 

Education     The education of children around the world must be given the highest priority. It is in them that the future rests, and they must be prepared to take their positions as adults in an increasingly demanding world. Again, at this very moment, there are more African-American men in prisons than on college campuses. Only the racist accepts that they are there because they are criminals tried by an honest system of justice. An educated brother is not immune to incarceration but most times he's armed with the tools to avoid the circumstances that land black men in jail.

Politics   Living in a democracy is hard work. The true citizen of the republic has many responsibilities. They must be registered, informed, and responsible voters. Economic development is weakened without associated political development. Currently there are no blacks in the United States Senate not so much due to racism as to the absence of the political sophistication to gain your seat at the table and keep it.

Coleman vs Washington

These two politicians had more in common than not. In fact Harold Washington repeatedly sought guidance and direction from Coleman Young, Mayor of Detroit.

Coleman was defiant. He refused to bend with the wind of the majority. His posture was never to dance to their music even if he knew the tune. In a nutshell, Coleman Young was not on earth to entertain. As a result the business community of Detroit deserted the city.

Harold was more agreeable in his style. He could be rock solid firm, but he extended the olive branch first as he did the initial day of his election. There were the much publicized "council wars" but each week Harold would win over another handful of people. He worked with the business leaders.

The major difference between the two is that Coleman had time to teach, and he taught those willing to learn. Harold's time was too short. Upon his death all that he built disintegrated within twenty-four hours.

God blessed us with both men.

Victims  Those that most would like to forget can not be forgotten. When it comes to violence perpetrated against the innocent we always want to change the subject, or the channel. Ignoring the victims insures that there will be more victims.
