The Tom Joyner Morning Show is a radio talk show that beats the drum for unity amongst black Americans. Through his radio show Tom Joyner has impacted Congressional legislation, consumer issues, and has greatly influenced black public opinion on many issues that impact their daily lives. Sybil Wilkes, one of his female sidekicks, brings to the platform the voice of the free thinking woman of the nineties. Check out the WEB Page

Cassie Bernall CassieBernall.jpg (3792 bytes) was one of the students murdered at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado on April 20, 1999. You might recall that Cassie was questioned by her killer if she believed in God. Her answer was in the affirmative, and the next instant her earth bound life ended. Some say, and I agree, that her spirit immediately ascended to the heavens. Her courage, at the tender age of seventeen years, and her faith can only be heralded.

Rev. Jesse L. Jackson jackson.jpg (6057 bytes) has evolved from the young protégée of Dr. Martin Luther King, to the media's selection for a national black leader, and finally, after years dedicated to making a difference, to an accepted national leader championing what is right around the world.

After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the United States it was Jesse Jackson that volunteered to go to Afghanistan to effect the release of human rights volunteers under arrest for preaching Christianity. The news media jumped all over Jesse, and ridiculed his actions as a publicity stunt.  This attitude prevailed despite Jesse's track record for bringing Americans home.

Rosa Parks was not out to initiate a national movement toward equality for all Americans. No, Ms. Parks, a lady holding down several jobs, was simply to exhausted to get up and allow a white man her seat, but in Alabama, as throughout the south in the 1950s, that simple act was not only against the law, but defiant against white supremacy.

Oprah Winfrey has brought a different manner of thinking into the households of many. No Oprah bashing here. However, it must be noted that Oprah's success is based upon entertaining the majority population. Few blacks have known success outside of the entertainment industry.
