A young, black, male citizen of the USA has a greater chance of ending up behind prison bars than behind a desk. Far too many of our black American youth never reach adulthood. The value of life has been reduced repeatedly and this trend must end. Education is but a spoke in the wheel of knowledge that carries us through life, but it is a very important spoke.

Rob a people of their history and it is only natural that the value of life will decrease. Our public school systems provide no incentive because there is no demonstration of past accomplishments incorporated in the instruction delivered. The burden of responsibility lies with those charged to educate, but the primary responsibility rests with those that bring children into our world. All forms of animal teach their young, and we should be no different. The history of the United States is not a pretty one. The entire destruction of native American cultures, the enslavement of one's fellow man, the rape of the natural environment in difference to profits, and racial bigotry that can be found in every household are all the legacies of U.S.A. History. True history reflects the GOOD, BAD, and the UGLY. Factual accounts can contribute to successful learning.
